FRESHTXT DEBUTS AT THE NATIONAL RESTAURANTASSOCIATION SHOW

TEXT MESSAGING AND WEB-BASED SOFTWARE REVOLUTIONIZES RESTAURANT CUSTOMER SERVICE

Upland, California – Freshtxt, the newest way to page restaurant customers to their tables and manage the restaurant floor, will make its debut at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) 2009 Show May 16 through 19 at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois.

“Freshtxt replaces the restaurant pager with the customer’s own cell phone,” says Scott Jantz, Freshtxt COO. “Using secure text messaging, it improves the restaurant’s bottom line, and doesn’t have the limited range or maintenance issues of the old pager systems. We’re looking forward to demonstrating the software for the first time at the NRA Show.”

Freshtxt was developed by Jantz and his business partner, Russel Hempel. Both parents with young children, the Freshtxt idea was born when their toddlers took hold of a restaurant pager while their families were waiting together at a restaurant. “The kids were throwing the pager,” recalls Hempel. “We got to talking about how often these pagers must get broken, or lost. And we were irritated that we couldn’t walk around while waiting for our table, because of the pager’s limited range. The idea just sort of took off from there.”

With their backgrounds in software development and web design, Jantz and Hempel developed the Freshtxt system that will soon revolutionize the industry. The highly secure, internet-based software means that the restaurant doesn’t need any specialized equipment to use Freshtxt; only a computer and an internet connection are needed. “Not only does the system contact customers by text, but by better managing the table flow, tables turn over more often, improving profits,” notes Jantz. The user-friendly system lets restaurant hosts manage their tables right on the computer. Specialized management tools, available at an additional cost, track table turnover and other staff performance measurements, giving restaurant managers and corporate personnel real-time data that will improve customer service.

During initial market research, reaction to the Freshtxt concept has been overwhelming. “I love the idea of being able to walk around the area while waiting,” says Charlene Heydorn of West Covina, California. “The last thing I want to do is sit there and wait for a table.”

Research data also shows that privacy is a key issue, so the Freshtxt system guarantees that the customer’s phone number remains private. Text messaging is done using a secured provider so that cell phone numbers can’t be stolen, and phone numbers are not retained by the system.

Freshtxt subscriptions come with a free 30-day trial, and then are $159 per month, with no contract or set-up fees. One-year subscriptions to the service are at the discounted rate of $1548 for the first year. NRA Show attendees will receive an additional free month of service with a one-year contract.
